The post-doc program is designed for experienced researchers and teachers from Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU), who want to deepen their knowledge in the field of Climate Smart Agriculture. The one-year program consist of both education and research.
The researchers start the post-doc program with a three month visit to the Wageningen University and Research. They participate in CSA related MSc courses. Besides increasing expertise in CSA, it also appeared to be inspiring to experience a different education system. During the stay in Wageningen, the researchers also develop a research proposal. After finalizing the research proposal, they return to Bangladesh to conduct the research – as far as the circumstance allow. We would like to introduce you to our PhD candidates. Md. Ektear Uddin is a professor at the department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development at PSTU, and co-coordinates the project from the PSTU side. The research of prof. Md. Alamgir Kabir is a professor at the department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development at PSTU, and co-coordinates the project from the PSTU side. The research of prof. Kabir is focusing salt-tolerant crops.
Dr. Muhammad Maniruzzaman is a professor at the department of Agricultural Chemistry. The research of prof. Maniruzzaman is focusing on the impact of climate change on agriculture in terms of salinity and nutrient dynamics.
