Substantiation of research
Farming communities of coastal Bangladesh face many climate change induced problems which affect their livelihoods and agricultural production. Plant disease is one of the most crucial factors affecting crop production and this problem will intensify due to climate change. Currently, most farmers do not have access to location specific weather information to forecast and properly prepare for rice diseases in advance. My research aims at developing need based tailored climate information services to forecast rice diseases in the context of climate smart agriculture.
Research methods
A multidisciplinary socio-technical research framework will be used to assess farmers’ need and to co-develop virtual information platforms to help farmers to forecast rice diseases
